You and me going fishin in the dark!

The boys went fishing for the first time yesterday. We had a great time at Connie and Wade's house. Andy and I were talking about how our boys are never going to want to leave their house because of all the fun toys! They woke up talking about fishing. They did not catch anything...although I thought Luke was going to catch someone in the face since he would not leave the thingy (I am not a fisherman) in the water! It was so great to see all the cousins together. Family is so important. Thanks for the fun day!

Sleepy Boy!

The other night we were eating dinner and looked over at Luke who was eating his corn at the new picnic table and he was asleep while sitting up. Occasionally, he would wake up and take a few bites of corn. It was so funny. Andy got a new smoker for his birthday and we had his family down for smoked everything....he made a brisket, pork butt, and a chicken. It was all great! Oh well, I better get going. There is laundry to fold and put away....ALWAYS!

Easter Fun!

Easter was so much fun this year. I think the boys had a total of 5 egg hunts plus Connor had one at school. We had the community egg hunt on Saturday and that was a lot of fun! Then we had a nice Easter dinner at Mary and Steve's house. Then Sunday morning the Easter bunny had come to our house and the kids had new baskets and more eggs to hunt. They had it down to a science. Even Anna got into it on Sunday morning at home. She was the first one up and I made the mistake of putting her on the floor in the living room, where the Easter bunny had left some eggs, and she opened an egg an the next thing I saw was her drooling pink! I had to fish two robin eggs out of her mouth! We ended Sunday with a fun gathering at my parents' house. The kids had about 20 eggs each scattered all over the backyard. Tony was mad that he could not hunt with the kids. It was a fun holiday. It is so great to live so close to all of our family! Happy Easter!

Is Spring Coming??

I was beginning to wonder if Spring was going to come this year. You know it has been a tough winter when you say, "Hey, it is going to be middle to upper 30s today, you guys should play outside". Since when is 30 degrees nice? Well, it is better than a wind chill of -16 like earlier this week. What happened to this global warming thing? Anyway, we have two sick kids. Anna has ear infections in both ears and strep throat. Luke has the crud! He was up a couple of times last night. We left the kids home this morning and went to Claire's baptism. We called home after the service to check on Luke and he was still sleeping at 11:40! I think he is feeling a little better. Connor and Luke wanted to ride bikes outside today. Letting Luke go probably won't get us parents of the year since he is sick...but I think we were out of the race of parents of the year at about noon on January 1st! So, here are some pictures of the kids. Have a nice week!

I made it to 30!!!

Well, my 30th birthday was last week. I had a hard time with 30! The celebration started on Monday when I decided that I would celebrate the whole week and get a Dairy Queen cake to eat EVERY NIGHT! I will be paying for that this week. Then on Wednesday night, Andy surprised me with an overnight trip with some of our friends to the Horseshoe casino. We have been trying to make it to Vegas, but life is just too crazy right now! Then on Thursday the drill team brought me a cake. So, we had cake at 7:30am! All of my students were aware of my birthday because I have had a count down on my board all month! Then some of the teachers surprised me with breakfast rolls that should be considered a dessert. All day I had treats brought to my room, and my sister and brother sent me some beautiful flower. The card was addressed to their "Older Sister"...Ha Ha. Then I was sitting at my desk at school and I looked up and my good friends Stacy and April were standing in my doorway. They told me to get me stuff because we were going out. I was SHOCKED. It took me the whole ride to York to understand that I was not in charge of the plans. If you know me, then you know that I am usually the planner! We picked up another friend, Mary, and we went to dinner. Then we made our way back to Friend where we met more friends at the Country Club for cake and drinks. It was so much FUN! I don't have any pictures of my birthday to post yet, but when I get some I will post them!

We have this stocking hat that Luke got in the hospital because he was born on a Nebraska football game day. Well, the boys LOVE to wear this stocking hat. Connor will sleep with it in his bed and put it on at bedtime. It is so cute. So, I thought you might like to see some pictures of the kids from this week. I hope everyone has a nice week. I have to go to bed now because I am in my 30s!!!!

Connor's "Basket"

Tonight Connor asked if he could have a "basket" with dinner. After about 15 minutes of trying to figure out what the heck he was talking about, I determined that he was wanting a biscuit. It was so cute! We are trying to get ready for our ski trip this weekend with Jeff, Jodi and Emma. It should be fun. I will update you when we get home as to whether or not Connor actually does it. I am a little worried since the kid likes NOTHING new. Both the boys have to have a kiss and a hug anytime we are going to be apart for a while, but Luke also has to have a five (hand slap)...he says, "I want a five". He is so funny. Anna is now pulling up to everything! She discovered the mirror today. She was laughing so hard at herself. I think she thinks that there is another baby there. Oh well, I better get going...time for bed!

Connor is 4!!!

Well, we are digging out after a day of snow. I am ready for spring.....although getting out of school early on Tuesday and a late start on Wednesday was great!! We had a weekend of birthday parties this past weekend. On Saturday we had a birthday party with 7 of Connor's friends. All of the kids did great. We colored, played pin the square pants on SpongeBob, had cake, and opened presents in record time. The teacher side of me had a lesson plan in my head for the party. I had planned about 10 minutes for presents and it took about 30 seconds. All of the kids started opening their own gift for Connor. It was pretty cute. Then on Sunday, we had a family party. That was fun as well. We had SpongeBob cake, and Connor was presented with his first bike! He did not want to sit on it, but all the other kids did. Finally at the end of the party, Connor got on his bike and rode it around the garage. Thank you to everyone who helped us celebrate Connor's birthday!!!
